Your business data

Your business details, customers and their contact details, jobs, price list, invoices and estimates are saved in a data file in ArborInvoice’s own application data folder on your computer. ArborInvoice has no account, no sign-in and no cloud sync. None of this is uploaded to us or to anyone else.

You are responsible for the personal data of your own customers that you enter into the app. Uninstalling ArborInvoice deletes its data file, so make a backup first (Settings → Your data) if you want to keep your records. We cannot see, access or recover your data.

Job photos

ArborInvoice only reads a photo when you choose one to attach to a line item. It stores a resized copy inside its data file and prints it on the invoice or estimate. Photos are not uploaded anywhere. Your business logo, if you add one, is handled the same way.

PDFs, exports and backups

PDFs, printed documents, CSV exports and backup files are created only when you ask for them and are saved where you choose. What you do with them afterwards, for example sending a PDF to a customer, is up to you.

Emails to customers

When you click “Email” or “Send reminder”, ArborInvoice opens your own email program with a prepared message to your customer. The email is sent by your email program and provider, not by ArborInvoice or Comwil. Links to websites open in your browser.

Purchases

ArborInvoice is distributed through the Microsoft Store. ArborInvoice Pro is sold as a Microsoft Store subscription or one-time purchase. Microsoft processes the payment, your billing details and subscription management under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. To know whether Pro is unlocked, ArborInvoice asks the Microsoft Store on your computer for the licence status of its add-ons. We receive sales and payout reports from Microsoft, but no payment details from the app.

What we receive

ArborInvoice contains no analytics, advertising or tracking, and it does not contact any Comwil server. Microsoft may provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics about installs, crashes and sales through its developer dashboard, as it does for every Microsoft Store app; this is governed by your Windows diagnostic and privacy settings. If you email us for support, we use your message and email address only to answer you.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies to you, the GDPR, you may ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of any data we hold about you, such as support emails. Write to [email protected]. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date.
